CHAMELEON FUN FACTS
The long held belief that Chameleons change colors to hide from
predators is only partially true. Chameleons also change color
based on mood, light, temperature, and when they're feeling
amorous! Yep, those little devils will change their colors simply
to impress the ladies! And to think, we have to take a shower, put
on cologne and the snappiest new styles...
WHAT'S UP WITH THOSE STEREOSCOPIC EYES?
Ah, "the better to see you with my dear".... Chameleons have
eyes that work independently of each other so they can see
what's going on around them, and this truly helps them from
becoming a snack for a predator!
WHAT'S WITH THAT TONGUE?
That there's lightning! A Chameleon can strike prey in a fraction
of a second. Talk about fast food! It takes less than 30
thousandths of a second for a Chameleon to grab lunch!
WHAT'S THE LARGEST CHAMELEON?
The Parson's Chameleon, measuring 18.5-27".
WHAT'S THE SMALLEST CHAMELEON?
Brookesia, measuring only 1/2" in total length. Yep, small-fry.
